Deborah Neill’s Seaweed Soap

Local Dulse Seaweed collected in  Donaghadee makes this soap extra special.

We eat Dulse as a snack, a healthy option instead of crisps, as it has a high vitamin and mineral content including Calcium, Iodine and Magnesium and is a good source of vegetable protein.

In my Seaweed Soap the addition of  Dulse  can help to soothe inflamed skin, has antioxidant properties, is nourishing and moisturising and the skin can also absorb some of the minerals it contains.

I combine it with Olive, Avocado and Coconut oils and some Shea Butter to create a rich and nourishing soap and then add uplifting essential oils of Clary Sage, Cypress, Rosemary and Bergamot to give a similar scent to when walking along the shore and breathing in the wonderful sea air!
